We have recently taken over from Philip Tivey & Sons and are offering a range of beautiful new varieties (about 120 varieties in production to choose from).
We are passionate nursery-people who will provide you with quality products and quality customer service.
We are an independent nursery in rural Bedfordshire, specialising in growing and supplying alstroemeria plants to the public.
Alstroemerias (sometimes called Peruvian Lilies) are very versatile plants and will grow in different situations.
Tall alstroemerias are good for the back of the border or for allotment growing and will provide a continuous supply of cut flowers throughout the summer months.
“Inca” alstroemerias are slightly shorter but will also give long enough stems for cut flowers, good for borders they will also thrive in large containers.
Shorter varieties such as “Princess” alstroemeria (sometimes called Princess Lilies), “Inticancha” alstroemeria and “Little Miss” alstroemeria, are ideal for the front of the border, or for growing in patio containers.
All varieties will flower from may through to the first frosts of autumn and will benefit from the use of a free draining medium.
All alstroemeria orders will be accompanied by full growing instructions.
Some companies sell loose alstroemeria roots (rhizomes), we never do this as the results can be unpredictable, our plants are well rooted in 9cm pots, the result of micro propagation, and as such normally travel well and race away when planted.
The alstroemeria plants we sell are named hybrid alstroemeria, the result of very selective breeding and not hybrids which are inferior seed raised types.
Due to location, the current nursery is not open to the public but people can collect plants from us by prior arrangement.
